Sonja was a four-year starter at Arkansas State and their all-time leading scorer with 2,312 points. In 1993, she earned Kodak All American Honorable Mention.
Sonja was originally an alternate for the Quest, but was selected to the team because of a player retirement. And she has earned her spot. At 5'8" she amazes fans with her quickness and rebounding, she lead the Quest in steals last season with 85, and holds the Quest regular season record for rebounds in a game with 14.
Sonja comes off the bench (though this year
she maybe starting) to provide the Quest with the spark they need. She
is a team player in every sense of the word, and I wouldn't trade Sonja
for ANY of the players in the ABL. I had one person at a game snicker when
Sonja entered the lineup...I just though, you wait and see what she can
do:) After about 2 mins. into the game, the lady behind me was cheering
for Sonja...she's a class act and I'm glad to have her on the team!
Here's Sonja modeling her new ABL World Championship ring that was given out during the Quest home-opener on October 17th.
Sonja during the Rally after Championship #2,
Sonja wouldn't let go of that trophy...and rightfully so:)
This is a pic of me and Sonja after the Lasers game.
This is a picture of Sonja down at the All-Star Game in Orlando this past January, she was Peewee's honorary photographer, and a great one she was:)
